Loving the Word of God
The Bible powers the Christian life. It reveals our hearts, teaches
us, corrects us, trains us, guides us and sustains us. It is the lifeblood
of every mature Christian walk and the beacon for every searcher of truth.
- 2 Tim 3:16-17 All Scripture is God-breathed and
is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,
{17} so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
- Heb 4:12-13 For the word of God is living and active.
Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul
and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of
the heart. {13} Nothing in all creation is hidden from God's sight. Everything
is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give
account.
- Mat 4:4 Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Man
does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth
of God.'"
- Isa 66:2b "This is the one I esteem: he who is
humble and contrite in spirit, and trembles at my word.
- Psa 119:103-105 How sweet are your words to my taste,
sweeter than honey to my mouth! {104} I gain understanding from your precepts;
therefore I hate every wrong path. {105} Your word is a lamp to my feet
and a light for my path.
- Josh 1:8 Do not let this Book of the Law depart from
your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful
to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.
- Psa 1:1-3 Blessed is the man who does not walk in the
counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat
of mockers. {2} But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his
law he meditates day and night. {3} He is like a tree planted by streams
of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither.
Whatever he does prospers.
- Psa 119:97-100 Oh, how I love your law! I meditate
on it all day long. {98} Your commands make me wiser than my enemies,
for they are ever with me. {99} I have more insight than all my teachers,
for I meditate on your statutes. {100} I have more understanding than the
elders, for I obey your precepts.
- Psa 119:9-11 How can a young man keep his way pure?
By living according to your word. {10} I seek you with all my heart;
do not let me stray from your commands. {11} I have hidden your word in
my heart that I might not sin against you.

and lifechanging. Do not believe everything you read in a Bible study.
Use it as a guide to cause you to dig into the Bible for yourself. Then
you will know the truth and the truth will set you free (Jn 8:31-32).
- Acts 17:11 Now the Bereans were of more noble character
than the Thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness
and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.
