The International Churches of Christ are nondenominational Christian churches that are dedicated to loving God, obeying the Bible, and imitating Jesus as his disciples. The members are very active in helping each other grow closer to God and in being better disciples (often referred to as discipling). These churches are very united worldwide in their mission to spread the gospel to every nation, city, town, and village in the world in this generation. Naturally, they are also persecuted because of their great vision. The churches are occasionally referred to as the Boston Movement, due to the spiritual leadership of Kip McKean, who was at one time the evangelist of the Boston church of Christ.

The International Churches of Christ grew out of the loose-knit group of churches called the Churches of Christ. The International Churches of Christ have been very effective in making disciples in every city in every country where they have planted churches. When they were called international churches of Christ to distinguish them from the mainly American group of Churches of Christ, it seemed a fitting description. The name International Churches of Christ is sometimes abbreviated ICOC or ICC.
